Fisk and Kinsel read from their own work on how to dress for divorce, why people from South Dakota are suspicious of bikinis, what to wear when planning to have sex in your car, men's bicycle shorts, lust, and red lipstick. Both Fisk and Kinsel have been wearing clothes more or less continuously since the early 50's; their sexual history is less well known. Fisk received a National Endowment for the Arts grant for 1999 and her first collection of poems, Listening to Winter, just came out from Roundhouse Press as #4 in the California Poetry Series. Her work has been anthologized in Passionate Hearts, The Poetry of Sexual Love, and Love's Shadow. She teaches poetry locally and with UC Davis Extension. Kinsel is the president of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International and has worked as a fashion and image consultant for fifteen years as well as designing one-of-a-kind wearable art. She writes a fashion column for Marin County's Pacific Sun and her essays on clothes have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle. Her new book, 40 Over 40: Wear It's At, will be out in April, 2000. Fisk and Kinsel have performed this "literary revue" to benefit the Marin AIDS Project, the Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation, and other California non-profits. They are available for fundraisers, regular bookings, and private parties. For rates and information: molly@oro.net. |
